ON AUGUST 20, 2016, some 200 people from across the country gathered in Sudbury, Ontario,
to mark the 30th anniversary of the United Church’s Apology to First Nations Peoples, which
took place in August 1986 at the church’s 31st General Council. Writer Sara Stratton interviewed
two key players from the Apology, and two members of a new generation who continue the work
that began 30 years ago.
